‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5: Denise Crosby Describes Mary As ‘Real Determined, Soulful Woman’

What is Mary (Denise Crosby) cooking is one of the greatest mysteries of Season 4? Many believed that she might be cooking Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), but that was just a wild rumour as she was spotted in the San Diego Comic-Con trailer as well as the latest one titled “Never Let Your Guard Down.” “The Walking Dead” Season 5 will showcase Mary, a character specially introduced for the TV show.

Denise Crosby talked to Moviepilot about Mary in the new season of “TWD” and how she feels to be a part of AMC’s hit zombie show.

Moviepilot asked if she is going to come up with a backstory for Mary.

“You’re going to find that as the season begins these moral conflicts will come out, this real determined, soulful woman that she is. This is the beauty of how Scott Gimple writes, he goes for these very deep, layered, human obstacles that they’re up against, and the stories we tell ourselves to make the world seem right. It was an interesting process because so little is revealed to you as you’re coming to the show and between seasons because they’re so protective of everything- I had to really sit down with Scott and have him talk to me at length about Mary and about Terminus, and about what it all really means.”

The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: Will Beth Greene Die in First Half?

Walking-Dead-4-Cast-24
Scott Gimple: “I want most characters that die on the show — most of them, not all of them, ’cause there are villains — I want the audience to love them. I want them to feel when they die.”

The Walking Dead Season 4 spent a lot of time on Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), helping fans to know and love her more. But it’s a double-edged sword to get a showcase on TWD. Sometimes it’s a precursor to your end game. Will Beth hear the bell toll in Season 5? It’s been a long time since we heard any filming spoilers about her. Is that a bad sign, or just par for the course when it comes to Beth’s hush-hush storyline?
We know Beth has her own separate thing going on, at least at the start of Season 5, with something happening in a hospital setting. Filming spoilers suggest some crossovers between the hospital action and the rest of the former Team Prison group, with perhaps a big showdown at the hospital in the Episode 8 midseason finale.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Said To Be ‘Terrifying’ As New Teaser Video Released (WATCH)

The fifth season of The Walking Dead is set to be more intense than ever, and now fans have been treated to yet another promo, which reveals even more of the action from the new series.

The latest trailer includes footage that shows Gareth saying, “I just hope you understand we didn’t want to hurt you,” before Rick Grimes gets dark, threatening to kill someone and whispering, “No matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe.”

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, spoke to TVLine about what fans can expect from the upcoming series. “The band is back together,” he said, explaining that Season 5 finds the survivors reunited at Terminus.

“All of these people have had really different journeys to Terminus, and, as a result, they’re different people than they were,” added showrunner, Scott M. Gimple.

“It’s decidedly more intense than coming back to high school after summer vacation.”

And with the season four finale leaving the gang locked inside a train car by a bunch of cannibals, Scott promises that the beginning of the premiere will feature “the most intense six minutes” in Walking Dead history.“’It gets very intense very quick, very terrifying very quick,” he revealed.

Check out the latest teaser below.

‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: What comes next for Carol and Daryl?

Walking-Dead-4-Cast-23The bond between Carol and Daryl has turned out to be one of the most unexpected joys of “The Walking Dead,” at least given that we never anticipated the two characters having this great dynamic, and they’ve turned out to be one of the best parts of the entire series.

Unfortunately, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen the two characters together now, given that Carol’s banishment by Rick happened in the first handful of weeks into season 4, and the two did not run into each other while on the road. Carol is still out there with Tyreese, trying to work her way back to Terminus.

When the two characters do run into each other once again, the one thing that you should expect is for their history together, and what happened with the banishment. Per showrunner Scott M. Gimple’s interview with TVLine, both Rick’s move and Daryl’s reaction to it “does have weight” on the story still, and “will be felt throughout the season … It’s part of their history. And they haven’t seen each other since it’s happened. So there will be a catching up to that fact.”

Hopefully, whatever happens between the two will not upset the apple cart that is their relationship too much, since their rapport cannot really be replicated at all. Unfortunately, those wanting a romance may still be waiting for a little while. Based on Gimple’s response to the whole “is Daryl gay?” speculation, it doesn’t sound like the show is looking to explore a physical relationship for the character in the near future.

Still, are you looking forward to actually seeing Daryl and Carol on the screen together at the same time again?

New pic from The Walking Dead Season 5 shows Abraham in trouble

Ready for “The Walking Dead” to return in a little over a month? We are too, that’s why we’re stoked about this latest image from the Season 5 premiere. Here you see Michael Cudlitz’s Abraham Ford hiding – or getting ready to strike – during a perilous moment within Terminus. At least we know our survivors aren’t going to take any shit from those pesky cannibals! (Well, we already knew that, because Rick told us.)

In Season 4, we saw Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life is thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive becomes more perilous than ever.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney, Danai Gurira, Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green. The series is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Tom Luse and Greg Nicotero.

“The Walking Dead” returns on October 12th.
