The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: Will Beth Greene Die in First Half?

Scott Gimple: “I want most characters that die on the show — most of them, not all of them, ’cause there are villains — I want the audience to love them. I want them to feel when they die.”

The Walking Dead Season 4 spent a lot of time on Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), helping fans to know and love her more. But it’s a double-edged sword to get a showcase on TWD. Sometimes it’s a precursor to your end game. Will Beth hear the bell toll in Season 5? It’s been a long time since we heard any filming spoilers about her. Is that a bad sign, or just par for the course when it comes to Beth’s hush-hush storyline?
We know Beth has her own separate thing going on, at least at the start of Season 5, with something happening in a hospital setting. Filming spoilers suggest some crossovers between the hospital action and the rest of the former Team Prison group, with perhaps a big showdown at the hospital in the Episode 8 midseason finale.

But will Beth emerge from the conflict to rejoin Team Prison in the second half of the season? If that happens … they’re keeping a tight lid on it.

Then again, all Beth spoilers have been hard to come by this year. That’s why she’s the TWD Bigfoot. Who knew she was going to be involved in whatever is happening (experiments?) in her section of the trailer? They kept that under wraps and it’s possible they’re keeping the rest of her story under wraps. … But a growing number of fans suspect Beth may be gone. Here’s a thread following the possible Beth death evidence, like spoiler forensic specialists.

At this point, it looks like the early Season 5 deaths may be Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.) and (after him) Beth. We were feeling hopeful for Bob for a minute there, but it’s possible the guy some fans thought might be Bob was really the new character played by Tyler Williams. Tyler was apparently at the hospital with Beth, and you can see him in the trailer, and Tyler’s character (no one seems to know his name yet) was seen with the crew in recent spoilers. Tyler/Mystery Guy is in, Emily/Beth is out?

Do you think Bob and Beth are first half deaths in Season 5? One but not both? Neither?

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
