The trailer for the fifth season of “The Walking Dead” was mind-blowing and incredibly intense. The season 4 finale left a lot of unanswered questions. On Saturday, Breathecast posted a few details on what fans can expect when the zombie series returns to AMC.
Creator Robert Kirkman recently said that nobody should miss the season 5 premiere. On the first episode of the new season, there are going to be answers to why Team Prison was put in the boxcar at Terminus. In fact, there are going to be answers to what the deal is with Terminus, who they are and what they are doing.
It was revealed a few months ago that there were clues on the season 4 finale. Viewers were also looking for hints on “The Walking Dead” season 5 trailer. This has led to a lot of speculation. Are they cannibals or something else? Is the hospital connected to Gareth and his group? Why was Beth kidnapped and what is Father Gabriel’s role in season 5?
Creator Robert Kirkman said that Team Prison will escape the boxcar quickly. He also teased that it would be done in a “creative manner.” A short sneak peek shows the “Termites” entering the boxcar wearing gas masks. Then Daryl is seen with a worried look on his face. Sasha says at the end of the clip,
“We don’t know what’s coming next.”
People wear gas masks to prevent themselves from breathing in toxins. They didn’t wear them when they offered them a hot meal or when Gareth was speaking to Rick last season. So why are they wearing them now? Could they be coming in to set off some sort of gas to cause the group to pass out? It’s a lot easier to transport people when they are not fighting or trying to come up with ways to escape their predicament.
The season 5 trailer does show the group in a building on their knees. Bound and gagged, it looks like the plan is to execute them one by one. But Bob does try to reason with Gareth and the Terminus leader learns of their mission to D.C.
Some are speculating that Terminus is connected to the hospital Beth is being held at. There are theories that they are searching for a cure. If Gareth believes that there might be answers and a possible cure in D.C., is that why he is seen outside Terminus with Rick? Does he decide that he will release them if he can go with them to D.C.? It will be interesting to see how that ends up since there is a possibility that Eugene’s story isn’t true.
Even with small pieces of information being released, there are still so many unanswered questions. Hopefully the fifth season will be a satisfying one with answers, action and jaw-dropping revelations.
“The Walking Dead” season 5 premieres on AMC on Oct. 12.
