‘Walking Dead’ Season 5 Cast News: ‘Fault in Our Stars’ Actor Ansel Elgort Joins Cast as Beth Greene’s Love Interest

Recent spoilers from various ‘The Walking Dead‘ fan based communities teased that ‘The Fault in Our Stars‘ actor Ansel Elgort will be joining the cast as Beth Greene‘s new love interest in the upcoming fifth season.
The rumor has yet to be confirmed, but a possibility is highly likely especially that Emily Kinney‘s character is expected to undergo some major and radical transformations.

A tweet from @TheWalkingNews said, “@AnselElgort of TFIOS will be playing Andrew in Season 5 of #TheWalkingDead who could have a ‘thing’ with Beth!” Elgort is reported to assume the role of Andrew, but details as to his origin or motives are still unknown.

Beth went missing on Season 4 Episode 13 when an anonymous party in a car snatched her off the road and drove away. Executive producers Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman assured fans that it is not the end of the road for Kinney.

Beth and Andrew’s potential love affair might spoil fans’ desire for a Beth-Daryl romance, but executive producer Gale Ann Hurd said he is not up for that anytime soon, “Daryl’s interesting because there are the people who want him to hook up with Carol, there are the people who want him to hook up with Beth, there are the people who never wanted him to hook up because he’s got to save himself for them. Regardless of what we do, I don’t think we’re ever going to make anyone happy,” she explained.

Meanwhile, a Season 5 trailer released at Comic-Con 2014, held in San Diego, showed Rick, Daryl, Glen and the rest of the gang lined up against Gareth’s team. Fans should prepare themselves for some gruesome deaths in Season 5.

AMC’s highly-acclaimed zombie drama series, ‘The Walking Dead’, will be back in its primetime slot on October 12, 2014.
